Stocks has been slowly and steadily raking up gains week after week. We like this kind of markets than those high volatile ones. The S&P 500 index closed this week at 1179 up 0.99%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.71%, and the Nasdaq composite index gained 0.31% for the week.
Two weeks ago, I mentioned that the international regions have lagged the US domestic sector funds in short term price momentum. This week, some of the international funds came to life and made big gains. South Africa (EZA) and South Korea (EWY) gains 5.3% and 5.9% respectively for the week. We shall see if the trend continues and the international funds will outperform the domestic sectors.
